The Singapore sling

So much for the EAT EAt, now is the DRINK DRINK time. For the drinker, you can have the famous Singapore sling!

Durian

Eating durian is an art. It's like eating the blue cheese as one has to have a strong stomach and tolerance!
Good place to hunt for good durian is in Geylang (yes, near the red light district). Tell you a secret that was told to me by my police friend. There are the odd lanes (Lorong 11,13, etc) and the even lanes (i.e Lorong 18, Lorong 16 etc). The red light district is in the even while the normal is on the odd lanes.
Remember to get the Malaysia durian and NOT the Thai one as the former has better aroma. The best durian has a bitter sweet after taste! I missed my durian : (

Kaya toast

For breakfast, one has to try the kaya toast with thick oily butter! There are two famous stores: Killiney road kaya and Ah Koon..These were considered chep food during the 1960s...

Yummy!

Laksa

Laksa is a dish originated from the baba/ peranakan..

The famous one is the Katong Laksa. For those who really know, on must at with the corkers (local pronounce and ironically called it "sea-ham" hich can also be interprtated as "see harm"(many now dare not eat due to hygience reason)..

You mut also drink the soup with coconut milk ingredient! Shiok man !

Pepper Crab

For those ho like seafood, the Singapore epper crab is a must. The "No sign oard" seafood restaurant is the king of pepper crab!

Singapore Chicken Rice

When you are visiting Singapore, eating Singapore Chicken rice is a must.

Th overrated Mandarin hotel Chicken rice is not the best or the chain stores Wen Tong Kee.

For the real Chicken rice connisseur There are two authentic chicken rice stores : Chin Chin (next to Raffles Hotel) and Nam Kee (Thomson road)..Remember, only the "White cut chicken"...
